Research Files
The research data files for the 2008-2009 Colorado Household Survey (COHS) and the 2011 Colorado Health Access Survey (CHAS) contain all data elements collected at the time of the surveys for the randomly selected individuals from the randomly selected households, as well as several created and imputed variables. The research file is available to researchers who receive approval from the Colorado Household Survey Research Review Committee to use the micro-level data from each survey for legitimate research purposes.
Prospective researchers must submit an application for access to the data. Each application will be reviewed by the Colorado Household Survey Research Review Committee. Criteria for project approval include the following: feasibility, scope, expertise, risk of disclosure of confidential information and consistency with the purpose of the COHS and/or CHAS. Researchers are encouraged to develop their proposal in consultation with the Colorado Health Institute, which oversees the data use application process.
